Sitting alongside your fluorescent tubes is a ballast. This component controls how much electricity goes to the fluorescent tubes.

Ask your EcoSmart Electrician whether your ballasts can be upgraded to a more energy efficient option. For example, if you have magnetic ballasts, these can be replaced with electronic ballasts that can reduce energy use by up to 17–25%.
